Is NCSA Worth It? Cost, Public Record and How to Stop the Calls

Made a free NCSA profile, and now you're getting calls about a paid membership? Here is what NCSA is, what its memberships are reported to cost, what its public record shows, and how to stop the sales contact or delete your data. Every fact about NCSA is sourced and dated at the end of the page. We built RawRecruit, a competitor, so read this with that in mind. TL;DR

NCSA is a real company, not a scam: it is part of IMG Academy, and BBB rates it A+ and has accredited it since 2005 (checked September 24, 2026). It doesn't publish prices; two reports give $1,320 to $4,200 for its three paid tiers (Grant Magazine, December 2023) and $250 to $2,100 (Scholarships360, October 2025). The free profile costs nothing, and a personal recruiting coach comes with MVP and MVP+. To stop sales contact, use the unsubscribe instructions in its emails, text STOP to 58373, and call 1-877-845-6272 to revoke consent to calls and texts.

Is NCSA a scam?

No. NCSA is a recruiting service that is part of IMG Academy, and it has run for over 25 years. Its terms name the company as National Collegiate Scouting Association, LLC, which is the name its BBB profile uses.

Here is its public record as we found it on September 24, 2026. BBB rates it A+ and says customer reviews are not used in that grade. It has been BBB accredited since November 1, 2005. BBB shows 124 complaints in the last 3 years and 48 closed in the last 12 months. It lists 82 as answered, meaning NCSA responded but the customer did not accept the response or did not tell BBB, and 42 as resolved, meaning the customer confirmed it was resolved.

On Trustpilot, also checked September 24, 2026, NCSA College Recruiting shows 4.4 with 4,478 reviews, and Trustpilot says NCSA has replied to 93% of negative reviews, typically within 1 week.

One general check, from the FTC's advice on scholarship services: legitimate companies never guarantee or promise scholarships. NCSA says the same about itself: it does not guarantee athletic scholarships, roster spots, offers from specific schools or responses from college coaches.

Is NCSA worth the money?

Start with what's free: NCSA's Free membership gives you a profile college coaches can see. The other memberships add in steps. Champion is self-guided, Elite adds group coach support, MVP adds a personal recruiting coach, and MVP+ adds a mental performance or nutrition coach on top. From Champion up, you can message any college coach, D1 to NAIA, and see when they view your messages and profile.

NCSA doesn't publish its prices. Its membership page asks you to book a call with its recruiting specialists, and Grant Magazine reports that an NCSA employee explains the pricing on an introductory phone call. Two reports give different ranges: $1,320 to $4,200 for its three paid tiers (Grant Magazine, December 2023) and $250 to $2,100 (Scholarships360, October 2025). Neither says whether those figures are per year.

NCSA's own answer is that it depends on the athlete, your family's goals and expectations, and how actively the platform is used. It also says it is not a college placement agency. The plain test: if your family wants a personal recruiting coach, that is what MVP and MVP+ are for. If you'll find schools and write to coaches yourselves, that coaching is the part you'd pay for and not use.

How do I stop NCSA's calls, texts and emails?

Stopping sales contact and deleting your data are separate requests. NCSA's pages don't say either one does the other, so if you want both, ask for both.

  • To stop sales contact: for emails, NCSA's terms say you can opt out of its promotional emails with the unsubscribe instructions in each one. For texts, the terms say to text STOP to 58373. The terms give no route for calls, but the sign-up form on NCSA's privacy policy page says you can revoke consent to calls and texts at 1-877-845-6272. The FTC also says a company you recently did business with, or gave written permission to call, has to stop calling with sales pitches if you ask it not to call you.
  • To delete your data: NCSA has a Delete Your Profile form for its online recruiting profile. For your personal data, NCSA's privacy policy lets you ask for deletion, depending on your state and subject to exceptions, through its web form, by calling 1-866-996-6272 (states other than California) or by emailing [email protected] (California residents). Neither page says deleting stops calls, texts or emails.

Can I cancel an NCSA membership and get a refund?

NCSA's terms say every purchase is also subject to its Purchase Policy, which IMG Academy hosts and which covers purchases from National Collegiate Scouting Association, LLC. The policy's general rules are below, each applying unless the law or a product's own terms say otherwise, with our own terms beside them. Both of NCSA's rules speak of subscriptions, so before you pay, ask how they apply to the membership you're offered.

  • NCSA, cancelling: the policy says "Your cancellation will be effective at the end of your then-current Subscription term."
  • NCSA, refunds: the policy says "All Subscription fees are non-refundable once charged."
  • RawRecruit, cancelling: you can cancel any time in account settings, and when the paid period ends, the account returns to the free Prospect plan. A downgrade takes effect at renewal, at the end of the current billing period, and you keep your plan's features until then.
  • RawRecruit, refunds: all sales are final. We don't refund any subscription payment, including partial months, annual payments or unused time.

What are the free or cheaper alternatives to NCSA?

Start with free. Writing to coaches yourself costs nothing: NCSA's own guide to contacting coaches says nearly all college coaches list an email or phone number on their school's website. You can also keep NCSA's free profile, which college coaches can see. The platforms below have free plans or publish their prices, so you can hold them up against whatever NCSA quotes you:

  • FieldLevel: a free-forever plan, then Silver at $29, Gold at $49 and Platinum at $79 a month. Gold and Platinum send your profile and highlight video to college coaches.
  • CaptainU: a free Bronze profile. Silver ($22.50 a month) adds messaging coaches, with templates.
  • SportsRecruits: a free profile and target list. Pro, which has no public price, adds messaging. It joined IMG Academy, NCSA's parent company, in 2025.

The Verdict

NCSA is a real company: part of IMG Academy, in business for over 25 years and BBB accredited since 2005. Whether a membership is worth it comes down to what you'd use. If your family wants a personal recruiting coach, MVP and MVP+ are built for that; get the full price and the cancellation terms in writing before you pay. If you'll find schools and write to coaches yourselves, start free, and pay only for a tool that does a job you need done.

NCSA says it is part of IMG Academy and was founded in 2000. Its terms name the company as National Collegiate Scouting Association, LLC, and its privacy policy and purchase policy are hosted by IMG Academy.

Do I have to pay NCSA for college coaches to see my athlete?

No. NCSA's Free membership includes a profile that college coaches can see. Messaging any college coach, D1 to NAIA, comes with its Champion, Elite, MVP and MVP+ memberships.

How many sports does NCSA cover?

NCSA says it covers 31 sports. Its sports menu lists lacrosse, soccer and swimming for both women and men.

Does opting out in NCSA's privacy policy stop the calls?

The policy doesn't say so. Depending on your state, its opt-outs cover targeted advertising and the sale of your personal data, and it treats the Global Privacy Control browser signal as a request to opt out. For calls, texts and emails, use the sales-contact routes above.
